What do the different colors of Snip mean

Understand what each Snip color means: Text, Validation, Exception, Sum, and Table Snips and the highlights they apply.

Each Snip type applies a different color and marker to your document and cells. Here is what each one means.

Text Snip

Text Snip icon

The Text Snip extracts data from a file and places it into the contents of a cell. It also creates a cross-reference back to the original area of the document.

Validation Snip

Validation Snip icon

The Validation Snip creates a cross-reference to a specific location within a source document and adds a green highlight and a tickmark to the cell contents.

Exception Snip

Exception Snip icon

The Exception Snip creates a cross-reference to a specific location within a source document and adds a red highlight and a negative tickmark to the cell contents.

Sum Snip

Sum Snip icon

The Sum Snip extracts data and recalculates a sum, so you can perform a casting check while highlighting exactly where the parts of the sum appear in a document.

Table Snip

Table Snip icon

The Table Snip extracts a full table or set of tabular data directly into the workbook. A purple highlight is added at the top-left cell of the extracted data.
