How-to video

What the video covers

The video shows the client experience in UpLink, from opening a document request through a secure link to uploading files, delegating requests, and tracking their status.

Receiving a document request

When you request documents using UpLink, the client receives an email notification. This email includes a button labeled Upload Documents. Clicking this button takes the client directly to UpLink.

Instead of requiring usernames and passwords, UpLink provides secure links for access. For security reasons, these links expire after 24 hours. If your link has expired, you will see a notification screen. Simply click the Get a New Link button to receive a fresh link in your inbox.

Uploading a file

To upload a file:

  1. Click the request you need to fulfill.

  2. Use the file picker or drag and drop files into the request.

  3. Preview the file to double-check before submission.

  4. Click Submit to complete the process.

Marking a request as sensitive

You can mark a request as Sensitive, which ensures that only members of the engagement team can view the uploaded files. Other assignees on the engagement will not have access.

Asking a question about a request

If you need clarification about a request, you can leave a comment. The requester will receive a notification and can respond directly.

Delegating a request

If you need someone else to fulfill a request:

  1. Click the Delegate This Request button.

  2. Select a person or enter an email address.

  3. The delegatee will receive an email notification similar to the one you received.

To track delegated requests, use the Delegated Requests filter.

Tracking requests

  • To view all requests within an engagement, use the All Requests filter.

  • To track only your delegated requests, use the Delegated Requests filter.

Client notifications

Clients are notified only on certain events for the requests assigned to them, including: request sent, discussion comment added by someone else, edits to the requests within the active engagement, and request returned. If a request is approved, the client is not notified, but they can see the status update within the application.
