How to compare different versions of financial statements with Financial Statement Suite

How to use the Version Compare feature in Financial Statement Suite to review changes between two versions of the same financial statement.

When you update a financial statement, Financial Statement Suite (FSS) can compare the new version against the previous one and highlight all changes, letting you review differences quickly without manual line-by-line comparison.

Prerequisites

  • Two versions of the same financial statement

  • Financial Statement Suite add-on module

Steps

  1. Open FSS from the DataSnipper ribbon. Start a new tick and tie or open an existing project.

  2. Import your current financial statement. Then click the blue + icon next to the Version 1 tab to import the updated version. If you imported a prior year in Version 1, do the same for subsequent versions.

  3. A pop-up confirms that tickmarks have been transferred to the new version, except where changes were found and require your review.

  4. Use the toggle in the top left corner to navigate between versions. Each version shows the date and time it was created.

  5. Select the Version Compare tab in the overview. The right screen showing the previous version is view-only.

  6. Review the findings and select Clear for items that are correct.
