DocuMine is an AI engine that removes the tedious task of manually searching through large volumes of documents. You ask specific questions and receive precise answers. DocuMine automatically suggests answers and creates references to the relevant numbers, text, or sentences, so you can focus on reviewing and validating data while staying in full control.

DocuMine is an AI feature in the DataSnipper ribbon in Excel. There is no separate DocuMine installer. Installing the DataSnipper Excel add-in and getting access to DocuMine inside an existing installation are different tasks.

If the installation stage or error text is unavailable, you can check once whether the DataSnipper ribbon is visible in Excel and whether DocuMine appears there, if you are able to access Excel. This distinguishes feature access from installing or loading the add-in without reinstalling software or changing Windows permissions. If you cannot perform that check or cannot provide the result, you can stop these checks and use DataSnipper Support with the facts already available. Missing error details or ribbon information do not establish an installer failure and are not required to request help. The walkthrough below remains available to review whenever you are ready.

If DataSnipper is already working but DocuMine is missing or unavailable, check that you have DataSnipper v6.2 or later and internet access. Find the installed DataSnipper version under DataSnipper > Learn > About. DocuMine also requires an eligible Accelerate or Elevate package and User Management enabled for your organisation. Your DataSnipper administrator or Customer Success Manager can confirm those access requirements. If you cannot obtain that confirmation, DataSnipper Support can investigate with the facts already available. This is a feature-access check, not evidence of an MSI installation failure.

Question. A query written directly in the Excel sheet to instruct DocuMine to find specific information within your documents. It is the starting point for finding key insights.

Answer. The information DocuMine finds and generates based on your question, drawn directly from the documents. Answers still to be reviewed are coloured gray; approved answers are coloured pink.

Snips. References to the specific sections of the source document used to generate an answer. Snips make it easy to verify and validate the information, ensuring traceability.

Answer Card. A dedicated card where DocuMine displays your question, the generated answer, and the references (Snips) to the source document, giving full transparency for your review.

Focus Mode. A distraction-free window to review and validate individual answers and the associated document more efficiently. Shortcuts: press V to approve an answer, X to reject, and the left and right arrow keys to navigate.

Command Bar. A quick-access feature to ask a single question and search within a specific document, ideal for finding answers without interrupting your workflow. Activate it with Ctrl + Alt + Space.
