When you reimport an updated version of a source document, DataSnipper can detect the change and transfer your existing work, including snips, comments, and markups, to the new document version. This reduces rework when documents are revised during an engagement.
Prerequisites
DataSnipper v25.1 or later.
How-to video
What the video covers: a walkthrough of transferring your work when a source document is updated. It shows completing procedures against the original file, reimporting an updated version under the same name, the conflict warning that appears, and how snips, comments, and markups carry over to the new version.
Steps
Complete your procedures in the workbook and save the annotated document. This stores all your work against the original file version.
When the source document is updated, reimport it using the same file name.
DataSnipper detects that the content has changed and displays a conflict warning.
If the original document is no longer needed, delete it. Otherwise, follow the prompt to reimport the updated version.
Your snips and work are transferred to the new document version automatically.
