The show/hide toggle in the 21 August release note does not switch logging off. It only hides the panel.
Every agent action is still recorded while the panel is hidden. If a customer wants logging actually stop or wants to guarantee it cannot be, they need one of the other two controls below.
The three controls, by scope
# | Control | Where | Who | Effect |
01 · View | Show / hide the log | Agent header → panel icon (top-left) | Any user, for themselves | History visibility only. Logging continues. |
02 · User | Activity log toggle | Agent header → gear icon → Settings → Activity log | Any user, for themselves | Off means no activity log sheet will be created or audit logs will not be recorded or written at all. On by default. |
03 · Org | Agent Audit Log | Admin dashboard → Advanced Configurations | Customer admin, or CSM by request | Governs the whole organisation. On by default for orgs with Excel Agents. |
01 · View — Show / hide the log
The panel icon at the top-left of the Agent header, next to the agent name. This is the control the 21 August release note describes. It shows or hides the activity log worksheet in the workbook.
Recording continues the whole time the sheet is hidden. Nothing is lost, and flipping it back reveals the complete history. Treat this as a view preference, not a setting.
02 · User — Activity log toggle
The gear icon in the Agent header opens Settings. The Activity log, “Records edits the agent makes in a separate worksheet.” This one genuinely stops the log from recording.
It is on by default, but it sits one click from the main panel and any individual user can turn it off for themselves. For a customer worried about log integrity, this is the one that matters.
What the log records
A worksheet named Agent_Activity_Log is added to the workbook, alongside the DataSnipper sheet. One row per agent action, not per chat message.
03 · Org — Agent Audit Log
Reach out to Customer Success Manager who can update per client to have this enabled or disabled organisation-wide in admin.
