In v4.1 or later, you can create a custom tickmark in the Financial Statement Suite (FSS) to document your findings. FSS is a separate paid DataSnipper add-on module that automatically analyzes your financial statements and helps you perform and document financial statement procedures quickly, while relying on your professional judgement. Once you start working on a new version of the financial statement, the created tickmark also transfers to the next version.
Custom tickmarks
Users can create custom tickmarks to strengthen documentation. By adding custom tickmarks, you can conform to your organization's documentation standards. Default tickmarks can be set at an organizational level as well. Custom tickmarks help audit staff to effectively document their findings.
Creating a custom tickmark is supported in v4.1 or later, and is available with the Financial Statement Suite.
Create a custom tickmark
Click the Financial Statement Suite button in the top right-hand corner of the DataSnipper tab in Excel. Alternatively, launch FSS directly from your desktop by creating a shortcut or pinning it to your taskbar, or open an existing project you have already started.
Financial Statement Suite opens in a new window. You can import an existing tick and tie project from your desktop with the Import Project option.
You can also click the blue button to start a new tick and tie.
Import your current (and prior year) version(s) of your financial statement to start the tick and tie.
When you click on any amount within the financial statements or any finding, a pop-up appears.
Click Custom Tickmarks, where you will see the option to Add custom tickmark.
Give your tickmark a title and the characters used for the tickmark, and decide if it indicates correct or incorrect.
Once you click Ok, the tickmark is created and ready to use.
