How to create an Excel workbook and import IT ticket documents, use Form Extraction to capture ticket and termination details for a set of user accounts, and use Validation or Exception Snips to confirm whether access was correctly removed.

Prerequisites

  • Relevant IT tickets

  • Set of user accounts to test

  • DataSnipper Professional or Elevate package

Steps

  1. Create an Excel workbook to document your testing and import the IT ticket documents.

  2. Click Form Extraction in the Document Extraction menu and select Start new form extraction. Choose the IT ticket documents to use.

  3. Add extractions for each data field you need: Ticket ID, Full Name, Termination Request Date, Ticket Creation Date, and Termination Date. Name each extraction clearly.

  4. Click Export to Excel. A new Form Extraction tab appears in your workbook with all extracted snips.

  5. Copy the snips into your control testing template.

  6. Use Validation Snips or Exception Snips to confirm whether user access has been correctly removed for each item in your sample.
