The settings menu in DataSnipper (available from v5.0) gives users the flexibility to customise the platform's default behaviour at a user level. You can find the settings menu in the DataSnipper ribbon.
About Settings
The settings menu includes both general user-level options and per-workbook settings that can be configured independently.
OCR options
If you do not want to be notified each time DataSnipper runs text recognition on imported documents, you can disable these notifications by enabling automatic OCR in the settings menu.
Importing documents with CTRL + V
You can import documents directly into your Excel workbook using copy and paste. This option is disabled by default. To enable it, open the settings menu and turn it on.
Learn Track
When you install DataSnipper for the first time, you receive a Learn Track invite. Learn Track provides videos about product features and audit use cases delivered to your inbox. To disable the invite, turn off the Learn Track option in the settings menu.
Workbook Settings
DataSnipper also offers workbook-level settings that apply to individual Excel workbooks. These let you customise behaviour based on the specific procedures in that file.
Embedding documents in the workbook
To store your supported documents inside the Excel workbook, enable this setting. Keep in mind that embedding documents increases the file size.
If you have many documents and want to reduce file size, disable this option. When disabled, DataSnipper opens documents from their original location, so the files must remain in the same folder or at the same path.
Table Snip suggestions
When you import documents that contain tables, DataSnipper automatically suggests Table Snips. To disable these suggestions for a specific workbook, turn off the Table Snip Suggestions setting.
