How to update or uninstall DataSnipper

In this article we explain how to update, uninstall or repair DataSnipper.

Prerequisites

1. The installation link for DataSnipper will be provided to your by your DataSnipper contact. Please reach out to your Customer Success Manager if you haven't received yours. (e.g. DataSnipper Installer Vx.x.x.zip)

Update DataSnipper

Updating DataSnipper follows the same process as installing DataSnipper. The update process will automatically remove the currently installed version of DataSnipper.

1. Download the new setup package from the installation link.

2. Unzip the setup package (e.g. DataSnipper Installer Vx.x.x.zip). 

3. Run Setup.msi, follow the steps in the installation wizard to update DataSnipper. The installation process will allow you to remove older versions of DataSnipper.

Uninstall DataSnipper

While it's not necessary to uninstall before updating to a newer version of DataSnipper, you can remove DataSnipper for troubleshooting purposes by running the installer file.

1. Download the new setup package from the installation link.

2. Unzip the setup package (e.g. DataSnipper Installer Vx.x.x.zip). 

3. Run Setup.msi, follow the steps in the installation wizard. If the installer is for the same version you have installed, it will allow you to Remove or Repair the installed version of DataSnipper.

If you encounter issues with any of the steps above and are unable to uninstall, repair or install DataSnipper, please reach out to your IT team.
