How to validate the internal consistency with the Financial Statements Suite

DataSnipper v4.0 - Validate Internal Consistency

  1. Begin by clicking the Financial Statement Suite button in the top right-hand corner of the DataSnipper tab within excel
  2. Click 'Next' from the Mathematical accuracy tab or select the 'Internal Consistency' tab within the Financial Statement Suite window to move on to verifying the internal consistency.
  3. Click on a number and select the appropriate occurrence which pops up.
  4. The other occurrence will show up on the 'Secondary View' page in the bottom right of your window.
  5. You can then click on the number to enter a tickmark which verifies the internal consistency or right-click to add findings, highlights, or clear a tickmark.

DataSnipper v4.1 - Validate Internal Consistency

  1. Begin by clicking the Financial Statement Suite button in the top right-hand corner of the DataSnipper tab within Excel.
  2. Select the 'Internal Consistency' tab within the Financial Statement Suite window to move on to verifying the internal consistency.
  3. Click on one of the highlighted findings on the sidebar and the occurrences will pop up.
  4. You can see the occurrences on the second screen by hovering over them on the pop-up.
  5. Using the pop-up, you can add comments, choose references, add a manual reference, add a custom tickmark or remove the tickmark.

DataSnipper v5.0 - Validate Internal Consistency

  1. Begin by clicking the Financial Statement Suite button in the top right-hand corner of the DataSnipper tab within Excel.
  2. Select the current and prior year versions of your financial statement to start the tick & tie.
  3. Select the 'Internal Consistency' tab within the Financial Statement Suite window to move on to verifying the internal consistency.
  4. DataSnipper automatically places suggestions of inconsistent numbers within the financial statement. By hovering over the numbers, you can quickly analyze the suggestions and place tickmarks.
  5. You can see the references on the second screen by hovering over them on the pop-up.
  6. Using the pop-up, you can add comments, choose references, add a manual reference, add a custom tickmark or remove the tickmark. 

Applying multiple tickmarks at once

If you want to apply multiple tickmarks at once, you can do that using the drop-down menu in the upper left corner. You can apply multiple tickmarks in four ways:

1. Apply tickmarks to the current page;

2. Apply all the tickmarks to the document;

3. Apply all suggested correct tickmarks to the document;

4. Finally, apply all suggested incorrect tickmarks to the document.

Applying multiple tickmarks at once can be enabled/disabled on a company level. If you don't see this drop-down menu, it means your company admin disabled this feature for your organization.
