      How to set up Directory Sync for your organization with User Management

      Learn how to set up Directory Sync for a more streamlined user lifecycle management (ULM) experience with the DataSnipper Platform.

      Prerequisites

      • DataSnipper version 6.1 or later
      • DataSnipper Enterprise package
      • DataSnipper Dashboard Owner access
      • User-level Licensing method enabled
      • Directory Sync feature enabled
      • Access to configure your organization’s Directory provider

      Please note that this article is intended for IT or admins overseeing user-level license management within the organization.

      About Directory Sync

      With Directory Sync, your organization can automate User Lifecycle Management (ULM). Any changes to user identities, groups, or access rules in your directory provider are instantly synced to our platform, eliminating the need for manual updates and minimizing errors. This ensures your data is always up to date. Directory Sync helps you save time, enhance security, and simplify onboarding and offboarding, streamlining your ULM as your organization grows.

      Step-by-step guide

      Before you begin, make sure Directory Sync is enabled by your DataSnipper representative.

      1. Go to https://dashboard.datasnipper.com/.
      2. Click on the “Users” tab.
      3. Click on “Directory Sync Settings”.Untitled (1)
      4. A new window will appear asking you to select your Directory provider. Untitled (2)
      5. A detailed step-by-step guide will guide you through the set-up steps for your specific Directory.Untitled (3)
      6. Once configured, the sync will load and you will be able to see the Directory Sync settings and the synced users via the same button going forward.Untitled (4)
      7. In case a new setup is required, you can reset via the three-dot menu on the top right of the screen. Untitled (5)
